Eine Kopie von meinen Bemühungen

Heute Morgen habe ich mich mit der Englischen Sprache herumgeplagt. Die Grammatik beherrsche ich so eingermassen aber diese Sprache ist ja viel mehr als so. Es war mein Lieblingsfach im Gymnasium und eigentlich hätte ich es dann an der Uni studieren wollen.. aber Frankreich kam dazwischen. :-)

Ich schicke dir eine Kopie von meinen Bemühungen, damit dir nichts von meinem "inhaltreichen"  Alltag  entgeht. ;-))

Dear Lou,
I have read your letter again, this time carefully using my wordbook and I realize that your operation must have been a very tough experience. I once had a little operation made with only  local anaesthesia and the worst thing about it was that I could hear the comments of the physicians, when they discovered that the case was not as easy as they had assumed. The feeling that they were insecure was frightening.

Yesterday you went to a control again and I hope that now everything is as it should be. Have you been able to take care of the girls lately, or have you been forced to stay home all this time? And Aki? Are you allowed to "lo prendere in braccio" again. Poor little fellow.

Sometimes I waken at five o'clock in the morning, and then my first thought always is: "Now Lou gets up". I myself realize that I have to change my diurnal rhythm. I go to bed much too late, often after midnight, and then of course I sleep until 9 o'clock in the morning (sometimes later).  But you see, very often the most interesting TV-programs are late in the evening. Sometimes I just see the beginning of them and then I record the rest on video.

This week I have recorded 3 documentaries. One about Gorbatjov (a man I always have admired) one about Botswana guided by Alexander Mc Call Smith who is showing places and people who have inspired him to his "Ladies' Detective Agency" and the third one was about Doris Lessing (Nobel price winner in literature) and her life. Today there will be a new episode of "Solens mat" which I have told you about, and I look forward to see it.

But still more interesting than the food are the people who live in that beautiful landscape. And all is accompanied by beautiful Italiansongs which remind me of my youth when Italy was the country of my dreams.
Of course I can understand that you are suffering from all the changes. Especially in a city like Rome life must have changed strikingly (con forza). But the old buildings remain and still give fuel to our imagination.

Sweden really is a very Americanized country. (The most Americanized country in the world. On the second place comes the USA ;-) We always know what is going on "over there", but we seldom hear things about Europe. But now there is a little program called "Zapp Europa", unfortunately only 30 minutes, which brings us reports from different TV-stations on our own continent. And last week I could see what happened in Rome after the murder recently.

If you still believe that we have a beautiful winter landscape here, I must disappoint you. When I look out of the window now, I almost get the impression that spring has come.
Today we have +8° . The only difference is that the days are very short now. You can take a look at our web cam to see it.


Well, I've written enough for this time.. maybe even too much. Also for me it is a useful exercise of the English language.
